This workshop will use your work experiences to heighten your confidence in order to satisfy competency gaps identified by CNO. Participants will:
◘ Develop scenarios based on CNO entry to practice core competencies.
◘ Engage in critical reflection and assessment of past nursing practices and experiences in order to meet the competency gaps identified by CNO.
◘ Receive an in-depth description of each competencies and identified gaps.
◘ Be taught how to format their CAS effectively and to cite the sources to avoid plagiarizing.

This course will help Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) to prepare and build confidence for participation in an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Participants will:
◘ Effectively apply the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) practice standards and guidelines to clinical situations
◘ Have an extensive review of the core competencies being assessed during the OSCE
◘ Develop advanced nursing skills in order to assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care
◘ Establish and maintain therapeutic and professional relationships
◘ Engage in critical inquiry to inform clinical decision-making
◘ Review common health problems, nursing managements, and properly assess body systems, pathophysiology and pharmacology related to various conditions
◘ Build on current knowledge and skills in order to effectively deliver safe, competent and ethical nursing care
◘ Conduct a focused physical examination, history taking, and to effectively communicate findings
◘ Participate in pre- and post- mock OSCE closely resembling the actual OSCE
◘ Learn strategies to alleviate anxiety and to effectively function under pressure
